Ruckus Sports Decides Against Using Manassas Fairgrounds for Obstacle Course

Ruckus DC was supposed to take place in Manassas on Saturday and attract thousands, but organizers say it's not happening.

An event billed as the ultimate adult obstacle course isn't happening, at least not in Prince William County.

Ruckus Sports LLC  planned to have the first-ever Ruckus DC obstacle event on Saturday at the Prince William County Fairgrounds, but decided against it.

"We have decided to postpone the event to Spring 2014 in a location closer to Washington, DC. The new location and venue itself will allow us to create a truly special and memorable event this spring," said Kristen Avioli, director of marketing for Ruckus Sports.

The group plans to announce the new date and the new location, soon, Avioli said.
Until then, Ruckus Sports plans to participate in the Let's Move! Children and Families Health Expo on Oct. 19 in the District. That event is part of First Lady Michelle Obama's children's health initiative.

Earlier this year, the company said Ruckus DC was bound to attract thousands of people to the county fairgrounds.

A Mini Ruckus for children was held last month at the Manassas Boys & Girls Club.
